The Manton Dam Return to Service Project represents a significant investment in the Northern Territory’s water infrastructure. Our scope includes refurbishment of the Manton Dam intake tower, construction of a new pump station, 22 kilometres of 600mm diameter steel pipeline and a new 24 megalitre per day Water Treatment Plant.

Exact Contracting has reached practical completion of construction works at the Strauss Water Treatment Plant, marking an important milestone in the Manton Dam Return to Service Project.

With construction complete and commissioning underway, our focus is now on safely testing, proving and preparing the facility for reliable long-term operation.

Commissioning is focused on systematically testing and proving each Water Treatment Plant sub-system. Testing is initially being completed using treated water from Darwin River before raw water is introduced from the Manton Dam Pump Station.

The commissioning process is being delivered in a controlled and staged manner. This allows our team to progressively test each system with water before moving into chemical treatment.

Following the 12-week commissioning phase, we will operate the Water Treatment Plant for 40 weeks and complete three four-week proof of performance tests.
